# Electric arc

An electric arc is a continuous electrical discharge that occurs when two conductors are in contact and an electric current is passed between them. The current causes a hot plasma to form between the conductors, which creates a conductive path that allows the current to flow.

What cause electric arc? The electric arc is caused by an electrical discharge that occurs when the insulation between two electrically charged conductors is breached. This can happen when the conductors are brought into contact with each other, or when there is a build-up of static electricity that causes the discharge. The arc is sustained by the flow of electrons between the conductors and can cause damage to the conductors and the surrounding area.

#### What happens in an electrical arc?

An electrical arc is a discharge of electricity through the air. It is caused by a high voltage difference between two conductors, usually metal, that are not in contact with each other. The air in the gap between the conductors is ionized by the high voltage, and the resulting electrical current flows through the air, causing a visible arc.

The temperature of an electrical arc can be as high as 10,000 degrees Celsius (18,000 degrees Fahrenheit), and the light produced by the arc is very bright. Arc flash, the bright light and heat produced by an arc, can cause serious injuries if a person is close to it.

##### What are the kinds of electrical arc?

There are three main types of electrical arc:

1. The first type is called a contact arc. This occurs when two electrical conductors come into contact with each other, causing an arc of electricity to jump between them. Contact arcs can be extremely dangerous, as they can cause fires or explosions.

2. The second type of arc is called an induction arc. This occurs when an electrical conductor is placed near a magnetic field, causing an arc of electricity to jump between the two. Induction arcs can also be dangerous, as they can cause fires or explosions.

3. The third type of arc is called a welding arc. This occurs when two pieces of metal are joined together using an electrical current. Welding arcs can be extremely hot, and can cause burns if you are not careful. How much voltage is an arc? An arc is an electrical discharge that occurs when a circuit is opened or when there is a break in the circuit. The voltage of an arc depends on the type of circuit, the size of the break, and the material of the conductor. How hot is electric arc? The electric arc is a plasma discharge, and as such, it is extremely hot. The temperatures reached in an electric arc can be as high as 30,000 degrees Celsius.
